BOWIE COVER FEATURE IN RECORD COLLECTOR
20th April 2021

Bowie.MacCormack exhibition DAVID BOWIE graces the front cover of RECORD COLLECTOR magazine for their May issue (518).

Inside, is a fourteen-page feature on 'Bowie becoming The Man Who Sold The World', as told by Tony Visconti, Woody Woodmansey, Rick Wakeman and Ken Scott.

For more details, visit the recordcollectormag.com website.

Update: The article, 'A long, long time ago', written by Daryl Easlea, utilises new interviews with Tony Visconti, Woody Woodmansey, John Cambridge, Rick Wakeman and Ken Scott, which explores the period in Bowie's life that culminated in the UK release of the album.

The magazine also features several rare photographs from the period, along with a two-page 'select discography' from 1970 - May 1971. There are a few questionable values put on several releases, along with one that is way-off! I think they missed a zero off!

There is also a full-page advertisement for the forthcoming release The Width Of A Circle out next month on 28th May.

ELETRONICALLY YOURS
16th April 2021

Check out the latest episode of 'Electronically Yours with Martyn Ware', in this episode 22, Martyn talks with producer TONY VISCONTI.

Martyn says: Of all the people I wanted to interview for this podcast, Tony Visconti was my number one choice. He has produced 12 of my top 20 all-time favourite albums, and he is simply one of the greatest producers of all time.

Bowie, Bolan, Sparks, Paul McCartney, The Move, Iggy Pop, Kaiser Chiefs, Thin Lizzy, Holy Holy, Morrissey, Prefab Sprout, Angelique Kidjo... the list goes on and on...

The man is a stone-cold, one of a kind, musical hero - my career would probably never have happened without his music.

Ladies and Gentlemen, kneel and pay homage to Anthony Visconti... there can be only one...

THE WIDTH OF A CIRCLE OUT NEXT MONTH
14th April 2021

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:

DAVID BOWIE - THE WIDTH OF A CIRCLE

COMPANION PIECE TO METROBOLIST CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD

TWO CD SET FEATURING 21 UNRELEASED TRACKS
FOUR TRACK 10" SINGLE / HIGH RESOLUTION (96/24) DIGITAL E.P. FEATURING 4 NON-ALBUM SINGLES NEWLY REMIXED BY TONY VISCONTI

THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD ALBUM PICTURE DISC

RELEASED 28th MAY ON PARLOPHONE

The Width Of A Circle David Bowie Last week saw the 50th anniversary of the original UK release of The Man Who Sold The World, David Bowie's landmark entry into the 1970s. The album began the collaboration with guitarist Mick Ronson that would continue with such Bowie classics as Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane.

The 2020 re-release of The Man Who Sold The World restored the album's intended title Metrobolist, while featuring a new mix by original producer Tony Visconti. Taking its name from the album's opening track, which was named after a painting by Bowie's friend George Underwood, the new two-CD set The Width Of A Circle acts as a complementary piece to that album. Its 21 tracks feature non-album singles, a BBC In Concert session, music for a TV play and further Visconti remixes wrapping up David's recordings from 1970 and revealing the first sonic steps toward Hunky Dory.

Also released on 28th May is a picture disc version of The Man Who Sold The World album, featuring the striking black and white imagery of the 1972 reissue.

THE 198MORE SHOW - PART TWO
3rd April 2021

Check out the latest DAVID BOWIE - ALBUMTOALBUM podcast, it's well worth listening to.

Episode 20: The 198More Show with Nick Pegg - (Part 2) discusses the many great things Bowie did between 1980 - 1990.

Join us for this 90-minute epic as we continue our mid 80s odyssey through the hectic schedule of D. Bowie, who is dressed in a frightwig and tights hurtling around labyrinths, or smoother than a filtered Turkish gasper, suave and Soho-sexy for Absolute Beginners.

We get to grips with the music from both movies, debate Bowie's astonishing work rate, enjoy his Iggy Pop impersonation, tell you all you ever wanted to know about the Italian evergreen 'Volare' and Pegg shares some fruity opinions on Chris de Burgh and the Thompson Twins.

We're very happy with this one and I hope you like it too! STAY TOONED: Next up - Live Aid and beyond. Join the gang, share the love.
