GRAVEN
by Nevada Kerr
Carver carve me
I'm the chiseled fool
The model marvel
Of an idle tool
A paltry bauble
Of the master class
A dread dead ringer
For the golden ass
The craven idol
Bought and sold
White and cold
In a marble mold
Picture me
As the heathen son
The hobbled fetish
Of a pious nun
The smirking jester
With a loaded pun
Carver carve me
I'm the lurking bust
A walking statue
In the moonlit hush
I crack and splinter
Like a wooden mask
The bungled totem
Of a banished caste
