FLASH
by Nevada Kerr
Blurred faces and half a heart
I can't catch a glimpse of you
Vaporous in foreign parts
And what a shifting view
The insight flicker in the cold
Lightning quick and rashly bold
With an instant message overload
Of bulletins I can't decode
Immortal you endured forever
In an outpost on the moon
Suspended between now and never
On the brink of not too soon
To hell and gone and far beyond
At the threshold of the past
The residue of a peculiar spawn
You change your mind so fast
In the bastard slang of balderdash
You denounce your future kin
Rebuking time with scourge and lash
Till the unbegotten cringe
