Guards a twisted anagram
A secret I may soon discover
A message or a mystic scam

Fragments of an elder menace
An encroaching borderland
I glimpse through pain of penance
A sadder and a wiser man

The oracle divine and looming
In a whisper concedes her plan
A recipe for guilt and grooming
The promised bliss of drug and dram

Moonstruck in a realm of rumor
Where the lure of panic reigns
The elemental dame and doomer
Turns a corner in my brain

Her adumbrations make me shudder
Hypnotic in the solemn light
The cosmic curse she dares to utter
Her fatal love, a queer delight
