BARRED FROM HEAVEN
by Nevada Kerr
You wander lost, a mislaid girl
A hungry ghost of mirror worlds
A shopping specter in the mall
Resisting reason, you devolve
In your lucid days, anonymous
You were starkly imperturbable
Your soul serene surveyed the scene
From my computerized convertible
Compatible in the dark
Our mutterings moronic
An apparition, you stole my heart
How erotically ironic
Naked in my isolation
Woeful without consolation
I misconstrued your concern
It was grief not love that made you yearn
