I'm tired of resisting
I stood firm and tough
No need to keep insisting
I proved I'm hard enough

There's more to life than holding on
And breaking every rule
When the universe was born
I was just a molecule

I'm thriving for posterity
If I cling too long I'll lose
A part of me is history
So step into my shoes

In the grip of retrospection
I gripe that life's too short
But in a future life my shadow twin

The slave inside of me
The addict who discarded love
