DIVA
by Nevada Kerr
Before I go I want to know
To keep the tales consistent
Is she flesh and bone or heart of stone
Resilient or resistant
How about that episode when she explodes
Cause he's falling off the wagon
The image froze, the public rose
And his toupee kept on sagging
I hope the censor will be quick and clean
I'm ready for deletions
Will he fade away without a scene
I'm longing for completion
I sat motionless without recompense
When her makeup was a blur
I was so engaged when she was on the stage
I even thought that I was her
Can I erase their last embrace
Or is the gallery defiant
Why are you a fan of the leading man
He's a dwarf and she's a giant
