WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY
4th May 2008

Guildford-born actor MICHAEL CUOMO who stars in the upcoming movie 'Will' alongside DAVID BOWIE, Lisa Kudrow and Vanessa Hudgens is interviewed by the Baltimore Sun.

One question asked was: 'Where do you go from here?'

"...I also just finished work an a Hollywood feature, 'Will', directed by Todd Graff, who did 'Camp.' This is his big Hollywood debut. It should be out next February, sort-of a rock 'n' roll coming-of-age story.

"I play the art teacher in high school. It stars Lisa Kudrow, Vanessa Hudgens, from 'High School Musical'. David Bowie's in it, and his music is all over the film."

You can read the whole interview here.

Movie Synopsis: Will Burton (Gaelan Connell) is used to being bullied or completely ignored by his schoolmates, so when cool and popular former cheerleader Charlotte Banks (Alyson Michalka) starts inviting him to hang out with her, the quirky teenager is stunned and so is his doting single mom Karen (Lisa Kudrow). Impressed by his eclectic knowledge of music, Charlotte, a gifted singer-songwriter, asks Will to manage her fledgling rock band. The goal: go head to head against her egotistical musician ex-boyfriend Ben (Ben Wheatley) at a regional battle-of-the-bands.

Unsure of what he's getting himself into, Will agrees to help Charlotte's off-beat trio, eventually expanding it with a crew of like-minded outcasts. Against all odds, the group's sound starts to come together and their prospects for success look bright. Even more amazingly, Will's loser status finally seems to be a thing of the past; he even has a potential romance brewing with a kindred spirit named Sa5m (Vanessa Hudgens), a classmate with untapped musical talents. But when Charlotte is faced with a family tragedy, she suddenly breaks off her friendship with Will and quits the band, leaving their competition chances in tatters. With Will's new-found self-confidence on the ropes and the contest almost upon them, he and the band must choose whether to admit defeat or face the music and stand up for what they believe in.

Movie Plot Summary: Will centres on a high school outcast and a popular girl who form an unlikely bond through their shared love of music. Assembling a like-minded crew of misfits, the friends form a rock group and perform in the battle of the bands competition at their school.

Teenager Will Burton (Gaelan Connell) lives in his head, and his head is filled with music. When his mum Karen Burton (Lisa Kudrow) gets a new job in New Jersey, Will starts his junior year at a new school only to find the old cliques still apply, but rock-n-roll rules the scene. Perpetually a misfit, Will strikes up a friendship with like-minded outsider Sa5m (the 5 is silent) (Vanessa Hudgens). They are both surprised when the school's "it" girl, Charlotte (Aly Michalka) recruits Will to help assemble a band to compete in 'Bandslam', a battle of the bands that is 'Texas High School Football BIG'. Charlotte's ex-boyfriend Ben Wheatly (Scott Porter) is poised to win with his band Glory Dogs - Springsteen wannabes down to their hats. For the first time in his life, Will finds he is uniquely suited to not only participate in something, but to truly make a difference. With music as the great equalizer, WILL is a movie that proves love, friendship, and music can all rock your world.

A STAR WHO FELL TO EARTH
1st May 2008

A Star Who Fell To Earth You may remember several years ago (Dec 2004) two DAVID BOWIE publications entitled 'Never Get Old - David Bowie: Man Of Ch-Ch-Changes Part 1 and Part 2' by Dutch author WIM HENDRIKSE.

Well after quite a few years of hard labour, last week Wim's Dutch language Bowie-biography was published: 'David Bowie. Een Ster Die Op Aarde Viel'.

It is the first biography ever originally written in Dutch. The title translates in English as ''A Star Who Fell To Earth'.

This week the book promotion started and Wim has already completed the first three interviews and today sees another interview to be broadcast on Dutch radio.

The books can be purchased here.

For Dutch visitors: 'David Bowie.

Update: All David Bowie books written by Wim Hendrikse can now be purchased here.

From Wim Hendrikse.
