'The Three G's'.... Goldie, Gallagher and God! 'TRUTH' is the title of the track sung by DAVID featured on GOLDIE's new album for London Records 'Saturnz Return' and it's effin' brilliant! Highlights: 'Truth', 'Mother', 'Temper Temper' and 'Letter Of Fate'. NME review quote: ....'Truth' on which Dame David himself contributes dolorous crooning. His vocals were 'directed' by Goldie, which seems to mean stretching and folding them across huge, angular slabs of electronic noise. If you like your soul music jarringly futuristic, lightly chilled and diced into cubist chunks, this unlikely duet works a treat. Even if you don't, it's still impressively weird. (Stephen Dalton) 8/10. Check out their web site at www.nme.comAlbum released on 2nd February 1998. MORE SHOW RUMOURS 20th January 1998 Rumour 1.... LITTLE WONDER BRIT NOMINATION 13th January 1998 The video for LITTLE WONDER has been nominated in this year's BRIT awards for 'Best British Video'. TERRY and BERNIE 10th January 1998 BOWIE and GOLDIE will star together in a new movie called 'Everybody Loves Sunshine' directed by ANDREW GOTH. Goldie is set to play crime boss 'Terry' who teases his bisexual henchman 'Bernie', played by Bowie, in the violent gangland movie. The film script places the pair in an office encounter early on in the film, after they embark on a murderous spree against Chinese Triad gangsters. Goth writes, "Terry finds Bernie in his office the next morning and touches Bernie, teasing him sexually." And in a bizarre plot twist, Terry orders Bowie's character to murder the girlfriend of fellow gangster 'Ray' after becoming sexually obsessed with him. Apparently, filming will take place on location in Manchester and London in February. BBC TURNING JAPANESE? 11th January 1998 Forty-four BOWIE tracks taken from the BBC archives are apparently being released in Japan on a triple CD, although the release was cancelled in the United Kingdom. I'm sure this must be a mistake, it's probably a bootleg. The BBC releasing in Japan and not England....? Nah! I don't think so somehow! 8th January 1998 To David, Wishing you a very Happy Birthday, and may you get all you wish for All the very best, Paul K. 24 HOUR BIRTHDAY SPECIAL 8th January 1998 At the BowieArt web site there is a magnificent Bowie '96 Self Portrait available to download for 24 hours only. MOSTAR MUSIC CENTRE OPENING 7th January 1998 BONO joined PAVAROTTI and BRIAN ENO in opening a music centre in the Bosnian town of Mostar on December 21st. The opening of the centre was the result of two years' work. Some $5.7 million was raised through recordings, auctions and charity concerts held in Pavarotti's hometown of Modena. These included a 1996 performance by U2 and Eno. The idea for the centre was hatched by the War Child charity whose benefactors include DAVID BOWIE, ENO and MICK JAGGER. A number of Bosnian groups have already recorded at the centre, which was built on the ruins of an elementary school in the eastern, Muslim-controlled part of Mostar.
