CALLING ALL ORIGINAL ZIGGY FANS!

I am a researcher for BBC's THE ONE SHOW and we are making a short film about iconic hairstyles - and the ZIGGY cut. It's a light-hearted bit of fun, and will be presented by celebrity hairdresser Michael Douglas.

I am looking for Bowie fans who can remember and talk about when they first saw Ziggy Stardust in 1972 or 1973. What was it like to be a Ziggy fan back then? Even better, if you used to get dressed up Ziggy-style or had the haircut, and have any photo's of yourself?

WE SAW A MINOTAUR

Two privately-owned DAVID BOWIE prints are available for the art collectors out there, to be sold either as a pair or separately.

They are both from the split set 4 of the 14 sets of We Saw A Minotaur - A New Play By Joni Ve Sadd

We Saw A Minotaur - A New Play By Joni Ve Sadd: A Prelimary Sketch and The Complete Text prints by David Bowie

Both are numbered 4/14 as both are from set 4 of 14 sets. They are dated 1994 and signed by his Rockgodliness!

As you might be aware, there were 14 sets of 17 prints and set 4 was deliberately split and framed at the instruction of David Bowie and his art dealer Kate Chertavian.

The fact that one day someone might want to collect them all would bump up value if you are buying for an investment. They are really beautiful to just treasure which was my intention, but alas fate the bounder has decided I have to sell.

They are titled (embossed) 'A Preliminary Sketch' and 'The Complete Text'.

'The Complete Text' is a crouching minotaur and is really beautiful, the other 'A Preliminary Sketch' is small black and white images similar to something a design artist or photographer would produce for an example layout board.

The photographs obviously don't do justice to the quality of the prints with the colour much more vibrant, its just the light I took them in.

The prints are available at £750 for EACH plus postage (as these will be valuable one day when someone wants to collect the set). As I SAY I will SPLIT them if necessary.

CARLOS AT ROCKCON WEEKEND

The legendary CARLOS ALOMAR will make an appearance at 'RockCon:Weekend of 100 Rock Stars' which is taking place at the Meadowlands Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on 30th July through to 1st August 1st.

Carlos, who as you know co-wrote 'Fame' with DAVID BOWIE and John Lennon will take part in the 'Lennon Legacy' theme, alongside Lennon recording wizard, Dennis Ferrante, promoter Sid Bernstein and Clay Cole.

This once-in-a-lifetime event will include live concerts, interview panels, unplugged performances, and will feature a music and memorabilia market place. Discount packages can still be purchased online and daily ticket prices will start at a modest $20 in advance.

CALLING ALL ORIGINAL 70s BOWIE FANS

CHANNEL 4 will shortly be filming a new prime-time history series. Each programme will take a well known figure on a journey to explore their own past and discover the impact their formative years had on their lives.

For one of our celebrities DAVID BOWIE was a particularly influential figure in the early 70s. We'd like to introduce this person to other diehard fans of the era.

BOWIE ANGELS AND HEROES

The Halifax-based ANGELS & HEROES THEATRE COMPANY will present its 4th fundraiser, 'PRIDE TRIBUTE CONCERT: DAVID BOWIE' on Tuesday, July 20th, at 8 pm in the Music Room, 6181 Lady Hammond Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

During the tribute concert, hosted by local actor Shawn Duggan and A&H co-founder Tara Patriquin, local musicians and theatre people will present their renditions of their favourite Bowie songs.

Performers will include: Emmy Alcorn, Amy Blanchard, Aaron Collier and Craig Mercer from The Jimmy Swift Band; Zac Crouse and Jessie Tesolin from Caledonia; Mark Crowe; Mike Dalton; Tanya Davis; Dave Fultz; Stewart Legere; Norma MacDonald; Steve MacDougall from Slowcoaster; Christina Martin; Ryan McGrath; Brooke Miller; Sleep to Dream; Molly Thomason; A&H co-founder Richie Wilcox; and more.

Tickets are priced at $20 or $15 for student/unwaged and can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling 223-5371.

A painting of David Bowie by Justin Lee will be up for auction at the concert.

I'D RATHER BE CHROME

Two different companies SPARK and IXO have produced 1:43 die-cast collectable models of the DAVID BOWIE designed Mini.

As you may remember David Bowie personally designed a beautiful mirrored chrome Mini as part of the 40th Anniversary celebrations of the original Mini back in 1999.

The Spark Model version is now on sale. Spark number S1516, is presented on a plinth with a clear acrylic display case and card slip case and boxed.

Expect to pay around �40 for the Spark Models version and around �25 for the IXO version.

Scheduled for release on Monday 2nd August is the DAVID BOWIE 2010 Issue UK Deluxe Edition 28-track 2-LP Vinyl Box Set from the Decca Pop label.

Originally released in 1967, this expanded edition of David Bowie's debut album for Decca, comprises the original stereo and mono mixes of the album stunningly remastered by Peter Mew and Tris Penna at Abbey Road Studios.

ZIGGY AND THE PSYCHIATRIST

'ZIGGY STARDUST' the first novel written by French artist and fashion blogger ERIC WAROLL is now available for international purchase.

First published last year on May 7th, 2009 by Benevent in France, the book has sold well over 1,000 copies and has been sold out for several months.

At the end of this month of July, the republication of the book will be available to order in French bookshops and in the rest of the world.

'Ziggy Stardust' is a story about a psychiatrist meeting accidentally a man, near of the hospital where he works, pretending being Ziggy Stardust. The whole book contains references to David Bowie and his incredible universe and career.

The book's cover is an original painting made by Eric Waroll himself.

Half of the profits will be donated to Sidaction, a French association fighting against the AIDS epidemic.

Dutch newspaper DE VOLKSKRANT is about to release a series of legendary live concerts. DAVID BOWIE's 'David Live' 2CD is also scheduled for release.
