If like me, you can't afford the £3,000 special collectors' limited edition, you can now pre-order the alternative hardcover edition.
Synopsis: In 1990, on their third world tour together, photographer Denis O'Regan told David Bowie what inspired him to take up rock photography. 'It's because of you,' said Denis. He was inspired by Bowie's 1973 Ziggy Stardust concert at the Hammersmith Odeon. Bowie's response: 'Nah, you'll probably tell Bono the same thing tomorrow night.'
In Ricochet: Bowie 1983, the official photographer of one of the most celebrated musicians of all time reveals intimate stories and pictures that offer an exclusive insight into David Bowie the man and musician. Taken on the 'Serious Moonlight Tour' - Bowie's largest ever tour that took in 99 concerts in over 60 cities - Denis's photos provide a thrilling, intimate view of life on the road with a unique pop icon. From capturing the theatre and mime of Bowie on stage to unguarded snapshots of the artist at his most human, every single image in Ricochet was personally approved by Bowie himself, and the result is a music photography book like no other.
Witty, poignant, and beautifully produced, Ricochet is a rare and spirited look into the life of an inimitable artist, whose music and performances have inspired - and continue to inspire - generations of listeners around the world.

davidbowie.com have announced THREE DAVID BOWIE releases all set for Friday 29th June via Parlophone.
David Bowie released two classic studio albums between 1978 and 1982 (Lodger and Scary Monsters [And Super Creeps]), as well as a wealth of work for film, television and more. Bowie also found time to embark upon a massive world tour, documented by the double live album Stage, along with two acclaimed projects for film and television. On 29 June, Parlophone will revisit that prolific period with Welcome To The Blackout (Live London '78), as well as two special vinyl reissues exclusively for "brick and mortar" retail stores: Christiane F. - Wir Kinder Vom Bahnhof Zoo and David Bowie In Bertolt Brecht's Baal.
The new releases begin with the CD and digital debut of Welcome To The Blackout (Live London '78). This live album features performances recorded at Earl's Court in London on 30 June and 1 July, 1978 during Bowie's "Isolar II" Tour. The music was released earlier this year on vinyl as a strictly limited-edition triple-LP set for Record Store Day 2018.
Tony Visconti, who co-produced a dozen studio albums for Bowie throughout his career, recorded the 1978 concert which was later mixed by Bowie and David Richards.
The set naturally focuses on songs from the two albums Bowie released in 1977 - Low and "Heroes" as well as other earlier career highlights such as 'Fame', 'Ziggy Stardust', 'The Jean Genie' and 'Station To Station' and the first ever live performance of 'Sound And Vision', included in this set was its debut live performance. Welcome To The Blackout (Live London '78) will be available as a two-CD set as well as digitally for download and streaming in both standard and high-definition versions.
Christiane F. - Wir Kinder Vom Bahnhof Zoo is the soundtrack to the 1981 film based on the 1978 autobiography by German actress Christiane Vera Felscherinow. The soundtrack incorporates songs from several Bowie albums, including 'Stay' (Station To Station, 1976), 'Warszawa' (Low, 1977) 'V-2 Schneider' ("Heroes", 1977), and 'Look Back In Anger' (Lodger, 1979). Released on vinyl for the first time in 30 years, this fan favourite will be pressed on limited edition red vinyl and available exclusively at "brick and mortar" retail stores. The set includes Mark Adams' original liner notes from the 2001 CD issue of the album.
David Bowie In Bertolt Brecht's Baal features Bowie performing five songs that were written for German playwright Bertolt Brecht's 1918 play 'Baal'. Bowie recorded this EP with Visconti at Hansa Studios in Berlin in November 1981. Recently, all five songs were re-released as part of the exclusive Re:Call 3 compilation that accompanied the box set, A New Career In A New Town (1977-1982). This new limited edition 10" vinyl reissue comes in a six-panel sleeve that replicates the original 1982 packaging and is available exclusively at "brick and mortar" retail stores.

I can't imagine the work and effort that went into producing this masterpiece. An absolute brilliant read and a mine of information. When the news of this updated version of Marshall Jarman's book David Bowie World 7" Records Discography 1964-1981 broke, it was a hotly anticipated release amongst the Bowie fraternity and the deluxe hardback version swiftly sold out on preorder, in fact there was so much interest in this book that a soft cover version has been released to satisfy the demand. Marshall Jarman, the renown authority and prolific dealer of Bowie records along with Reto Stocklin, arguably the premier collector, set about on this mammoth task compiling this wonderful book, backed by an army of serious Bowie collectors who also contributed. This book took an enormous amount of time to produce as they gathered all the information they needed to make it complete, but boy was it worth it!!!!, beautifully presented, packed with information and all in glorious colour. If you collect David Bowie 7" singles then this is THE Bowie bible for you!! - Steven Price - April 25, 2018 (Rated 5 out of 5 stars).

Fantastic tribute to our hero, a massive thanks to all the people behind this wonderful compiled masterpiece. My bank balance is going to take a hit. How much more is there still to be unearthed. How about all the footage that must be in the hands of non bowie fans!!!! - Paul Manson - April 26, 2018 (Rated 5 out of 5 stars).
